About the MCC
The Medford Community Chorale & Youth/Young Adult Chorus is directed by Betsy Pesce, accompanied by Dr. Holly Zagaria.
The Medford Community Chorale (MCC), which was formed in November 2019, provides educational and performance opportunities in the art of choral singing for residents of Medford and surrounding communities. The MCC has grown to 70+ adult and youth singers, and always welcomes new members!
The Chorale, which presents choral performances to the public twice a year, gave its first public performance at the Medford (MA) Inauguration at the Chevalier Theatre on January 5, 2020. A youth/young adult chorus was added when the Chorale resumed rehearsals at the end of January 2020 and is featured in each concert. After the pandemic brought everything to a halt in March 2020, the chorale went on to create six “virtual choir” videos, which are available for viewing on YouTube: “Medford Community Chorale”. The group, which recently presented its spring concert, “Lift Every Voice and Sing!”, also performs at local nursing homes & other special community events. Spring concert basket donations raised $924 to benefit the people of Ukraine and over $600 in proceeds from the concert program book have been donated to the new William and Charlotte Bloomberg Medford Public Library.”
